About this deal

A staple product for sensitive skin – this best selling hypoallergenic cream is formulated with 93% naturally derived ingredients that work to balance, repair, hydrate and soothe the skin. Featured star ingredients include Panthenol, Madecassoside, Green Tea Extract and Sunflower Seed Oil that repairs skin damage, nourishes the skin from deep within, soothes redness/irritation and keeps the skin soft and smooth all day. It has a low pH and free of any irritants like fragrance, artificial colour or parabens. Ingredients What’s special about this formulation is that it has a lower pH, similar to that of healthy skin, so it helps to strengthen the skin barrier. It’s also awesome to see that it’s free of potential irritants like fragrance, artificial color, and parabens.

Madecassoside : Derivative of Centella Asiatica Extract : Wound healing + hypertrophic scar healing properties + promotes collagen production (Acts as an Antioxidant). - Madecassoside can also help in burn wound healing through increasing antioxidant activity and enhancing collagen synthesis. For more information regarding Fungal Acne, please visit Simple Skincare Science (f.c) - #3 of our Recommend Skincare Resources for an amazing comprehensive guide! Potential irritants: Cetearyl Alcohol is a very commonly used fatty alcohol ingredient in moisturizers, however, may also be an irritant to very sensitive skin types (suggest to patch test or simply avoid it if you’re allergic) If you are concerned about the health safety of parabens, then feel free to avoid them by looking out for the Paraben-Free icon. They help loosen up the dirt and grime from your skin and hair to allow for water to wash it away with ease.Hero ingredients include panthenol, which moisturizes, softens, and reduces stress on the skin; madecassoside, which is derived from calming centella asiatica (cica); and green tea extract, which boasts antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties. These ingredients work together to repair damaged skin, moisturize, protect, and bring much-needed relief. Most people will find no issues with sulfate, however if you find your skin doesn't like sulfates then free feel to avoid them by looking out for the sulfate-free icon on Skincarisma.

If you have oily skin, I would suggest trying the Tatcha Water Cream that’s water-based and more lightweight ( review here). Is Soon Jung barrier cream good? The Etude House SoonJung 2x Barrier Intensive Cream uses 93% naturally derived ingredients and as few ingredients as possible to balance, hydrate, and soothe skin. It has been tested to be non-comedogenic (doesn’t clog pores), and hypoallergenic.

If not, don't worry about it - they do have had one of the longest safety records as preservatives! I have to admit, I have not tried the previous formulation as there were two ingredients that are irritating for some, and me being one of them made me avoid it. In the previous formulation the Soon Jung Hydro Barrier Cream had Bitter Orange (essential oil) and Shea Butter , both ingredients can be irritating for certain skin types. Personally, my face does not like Shea Butter as I will break out the next day. So I am extremely happy they have removed these two ingredients, removing the shea butter may have possibly changed the texture but this one has a luxurious rich creamy gel texture. They also added more gentle and soothing skin ingredients, such as Allantoin a soothing and protecting ingredient, Green Tea a soothing antioxidant and Glucose (humectant). All these changes make this moisturizer less irritating and a really great choice for sensitive skin types. Needless to say I much prefer this updated formula. There has been some healthy controversy surrounding them due to a few studies finding paraben presence in breast tumours and breast tissue. However, the majority of the scientific community have deemed these findings non-conclusive due to the limitations of these studies. Allantoin: A soothing, skin-softening and protecting ingredient, it can also promote wound healing. Formulation: Cruelty-free, mineral oil-free, free of color additives, synthetic perfume, parabens, harsh alcohols, common allergens, silicones or sulfatesHowever some sulfates are so good at their job, they can wash off your skin’s own natural oils that keep it moisturised and protected which can lead to dryness and irritation.

As a result, please note this is only an experimental label that can be best used to possible identify problematic products you have used in the past. It is in no way a perfect identifier nor a predictor in whether or not it will exacerbate or cause fungal acne. It will continue to be worked on as more information and research comes to light. Water / Aqua, Propanediol, Pentaerythrityl Tetraethylhexanoate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glycerin, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Polyglyceryl-3 Methylglucose Distearate, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Cetearyl Alcohol, Panthenol, Madecassoside, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, 1, 2-Hexanediol, Potassium Carbomer, Xanthan Gum, Butylene Glycol, Disodium Edta If you've ever used a skincare, makeup or beauty product that's made your skin look and feel smoother tempoarily - it's likely contained Silicone. They are a popular class of ingredients found in cosmetics due to their smooth, soft, easy-to-spread and smooth properties that help creates an artificial layer/barrier on top of skin or hair (commonly found in conditioners). It’s suited for irritated skin, sensitive skin, or ‘weak/fragile skin’, but I find even for normal skin/dry skin this is perfect! I mostly use this as a basic, regular moisturizer, and then for days that my skin is feeling more irritated or slightly sunburnt, I like to use the Dear, Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream (review here). Soon Jung 2x Barrier Intensive Cream ingredients If your skin is dehydrated, sensitive, combination or acne prone I’d say this is a great choice for an every day moisturizer.
