Even as I apply it, I'm not getting any spark of memory about the last time I smelled it on a parent or my German grandmother. I still enjoy it after a shower in hot weather, and it really won’t interfere with any other scent I may apply.

Citrus is a little synthetic, not quite the froot loops scent but it definitely doesn't smell "expensive.But all I can tell is that people often compare this one to Przemysławka eau de cologne from Poland. That's it: when people recognize neroli in the air, they never say something so ridiculous as 'wow I can smell tangerine orange peach apricot blah blah', what is uttered is simply 'wow it's neroli', even though neroli can vaguely remind them of tangerine orange peach apricot and so forth.

As the sun travels its arc across the sky, so must you reapply, an hourly ritual to revive its memory.Use it as a general feel fresh skin scent or when I'm going to be home and don't want to use one of my pricier frags. Yes my German grandmother wore it - she had an amazing dressing table set of a huge curved bottle with a balloon hand-pump covered in turquoise cloth, and I'm so mad I didn't inherit it. These newer scents are all more potent, more expensive, and more readily relevant for our contemporary use/trends/needs.

In this case, it's alright with me seeing as how this is a classic blend, I don’t think they messed with it or modernized it, from start to finish this smelled like real oils and/or extracts. mind, this looks as if it could be a 300ml bottle of Gin, or some other aromatic distilled spirit, such is the packaging, appearance and scent! It's not the typical sharp citrus like in Aventus clones, it' more on the gentle, full, sweet side, which might be read as insipid. The performance is almost comical but its SOOOO cheap that you can bathe in this stuff every 15 minutes and not care about the money. Does not last more than 30 seconds I bought this as a gift for my mother, who has been using this fragrance for several decades.

The conscious emphasising of the light and vitalising top note of 4711 Original Eau de Cologne gives it its characteristic and pleasant fragrance. Additionally, I find it useful from a historical perspective; as I continue to learn about perfume and study individual samples, I appreciate having one of the oldest (yet still in production) commercially available fragrances on hand to compare the art of fragrance today to the way it was hundreds of years ago. also has the added benefit of many other pleasant fragrance additions and the overall effect is one of refreshment.
