Malted biscuit base, creamy malt chocolate filling and a crunchy creamy malty topping…… if you aren’t writing your shopping list for the ingredients now then what are you doing! Seriously though, this dessert is an utter crowd pleaser and everyone will like it – try it and let me know what you think! For the full recipe with measurements, head to the recipe card at the end of this post. How to make Maltesers Cheesecake Microwave the Malteser spread for 30-40 seconds and stir it. Add to the filling and beat until the filling is smooth and creamy. You can find lots of answers to common no bake cheesecake questions on my How To Make A No Bake Cheesecake guide. If you've never made a no bake cheesecake before, I highly recommend reading through my guide first! You will need a 2lb loaf tin for this recipe (you can test the size of your loaf tin by seeing how much water the tin can hold, 2lb will hold about 2 pints/1100ml of water). If you have a 1lb loaf tin, simply halve the ingredient amounts.

However, if you do want to make it like this, I seriously recommend using a metal scraper for the decoration of the buttercream, and the disposable piping bags.. I wouldn’t be anywhere without them! You will need an electric hand mixer or a stand mixer for this recipe. You will need full fat cream cheese – the higher the fat content the better! Mascarpone cheese is a great alternative to cream cheese in no bake cheesecakes. I like to use malted milk biscuits for the base, but you could substitute if for another similar biscuit like digestives or hobnobs. If you do, increase the butter amount to 135g. The cake will last for 3-4 days in an airtight container in a cool place. You can freeze both the cake and the buttercream. To freeze them separately, wrap the cake well in cling film or put it in an airtight container. The buttercream can be frozen in a sealed tub. To freeze the cake decorated, freeze on a plate until frozen solid, then carefully wrap in cling film. Remove the clingfilm when you take the cake out of the freezer to defrost, as if it defrosts with it still on it could damage the appearance of the buttercream. Can you make this cake with plain/all purpose flour? I love decorating this cheesecake with some Malteser spread on the top with some whipped cream and even more Malteser goodness! When the cheesecake has set and the Malteser spread has hardened, it makes this delicious crunchy topping for the cheesecake.

Microwave the Malteser chocolate spread for 30-40 seconds and stir it to loosen. Spread it over the top of the chilled cheesecake to cover.
