About this deal

I read and post on this board in spurts but I have never seen anyone say a 2-piece keeps them in the fairway while a tour ball has them in the trees. That's quite a difference... The core of the ball is the same size as the 2020 version, and the 2-piece construction still lends itself to low spin and long distance. One of the main improvements was in the area of dimples. Titleist both increased the number of dimples while changing the dimple design to increase aerodynamics so that the ball cuts through the air better than ever. The Tour Soft has great accuracy, low drag, and high speeds so that you get the best of both worlds: straight and long. While it does not offer the green side spin that the Pro V1 has, the playability of this golf ball at its price point is one of the best. Pros Linking with the above point, which aspect of the game is most important to you? Do you want to get as much distance as possible out of your golf ball or would you prefer a model that allows your short game to flourish thanks to an improved feel? The Mizuno RB 566 features 4-piece construction with a urethane cover. On the cover you will find 566 micro dimples covering the surface of the ball.

If you want a straight ball with minimal spin off the tee, but one that still spins great on the green. Durability - This is one area that I initially thought might be a concern to me, because it seemed as though the ball was scuffing rather easily; however, I think perhaps that was just a misinterpretation on my part. After playing another ball periodically and comparing the wear on both balls, I think the e12 is as durable as any other ball that I've tried. If you want all of the feel and distance combined with spin around the green, you will still have to move up to the Pro V1 or something similar. I found the 2023 edition far softer than the 2021 iteration, owing to the enhancements of the updated Flexativ Cover. The feel was somewhere between the firmness of a distance ball and the softness of a urethane-covered tour construction. If your game is not consistent then a ball is not going to make it any more so. Wait until you can do the same thing over and over again on the course and then splurge for some golf balls that will help to lower your scores. Do I compete or play for fun? Based in Covington, GA, Bridgestone Golf USA manufactures premium golf balls, clubs and accessories under the Bridgestone and Precept brands. The company started making golf balls in 1935 and today has more golf ball design patents than any other company. Beginning in 2006, Bridgestone revolutionized golf ball selection with its custom ball-fitting program, identifying a golfer’s ideal golf ball based on personal swing characteristics. Today, as the #1 Ball-Fitter in Golf, Bridgestone has conducted over four million fittings via a combination of live-fitting, online selection, OTTO Autonomous Ball Fitting, and its V-FIT video ball fitting. The consumer data gathered from ball-fitting continues to inspire Bridgestone’s innovative new golf ball designs, yielding industry-leading performance products for the entire range of players, from recreational golfers to the best in the world. Bridgestone Golf is proudly represented on international professional tours by icons such as Tiger Woods, Fred Couples, Matt Kuchar, Jason Day, and Lexi Thompson. I noticed that my overall driver ball speed was 2.5 mph faster than I generated with the two-piece Bridgestone e6. The mantle supported the highly compressible core to generate consistent speed and controlled spin for an impressive long-game distance. Flexativ Cover Technology The 2022 Tour B RXS golf ball might not garner as much attention as some of Bridgestone's other premium golf balls but in our testing it performed exceptionally well. It offered all of the greenside spin and control that was promised but also exceeded expectations in distance it provided in the long game. In fact when hitting wedge shots around the green, the B RXS felt incredible. It was soft but not the spongy softness that sometimes comes with low compression golf balls. And from a spin standpoint, it was exceptional. We felt like we had complete control over the golf ball and could play any type of shot we wanted when pitching, chipping, or hitting greenside bunker shots. Combining the E12 Speed & Soft into one product does take some of the confusion about ball selection away and streamlines their product line-up. It reminds me of when Bridgestone consolidated the E5, E6 & E7 into the E6 brand. There is a clear correlation between size and weight. The heavy balls were bigger while the lighter balls were smaller. First the E6 which I used because they indeed curved less resulting in fewer lost balls and penalties. However there are also players who struggle in terms of feel so we have also included some models above in this regard too, such as the Titleist Velocity or Callaway ERC Soft. Whichever part of the game you most struggle with, there is a ball to help. Based on the samples measured to date, there are a few things generally true of Bridgestone balls. First, we rarely find any disaster balls. Bridgestone isn’t perfect but it isn’t nearly as bad as some others we’ve seen. Weight and diameter tend to be reasonably consistent, typically within the average range. Compression isn’t always as consistent and while a good bit of what we’ve tested falls within the average range, there can be significant variation across the sample. Weight Consistency
