About this deal

the pachouli, violet, and powdery notes etc in both the initial spray and the dry down overwhelm any sweetness. The vanilla and caramel is not sticky sweet nor syrupy as they are combined with iris, vanilla, delicious orange blossom and mild clean patchouli. In the dry down you still smell a hint of coffee and powdery freshness with bergamot, pear, vanilla and caramel taking the wheel. Beautifully fresh, mysterious, floral (iris and violet stand out to me, but they are so beautifully blended in), sweet and deep, all at the same time. Unlike the reviewers who seem so upset that this isn't similar to the non-intense/original The Only One, I actually do see a similarity.

I figured it might be a fresh take on The One which my mother wore for date nights and special occasions, and when I was a teenager and didn't have special occasion fragrances of my own, I sometimes wore it too. There are hints of flowers mixed with creamy, sweet, elegant fruits and blossoms and a very slightly coffee note which you only recognize when you know it’s in it ;) Masterpiece! Not too strong for me either, even though I often struggle with perfumes that have caramel and vanilla notes combined.

The violet and coffee notes really come through on my skin, and I love it because violet is one of my very favorite flower scents. Cheered on by the crowd, her natural aura and intense femininity draws the fascination of all around her. I don't know/haven't sampled any of the other comparison/reminds me of scents, the comparisons I did list in my review I've owned full bottles of and got to know well.

It has a fruity floral opening and a creamy richness which I assume is the coconut, although it does not have a strong coconut smell to me. The powder from the violets and iris along with some freshness from the rose remain on my skin for quite a while, some very airy yet sweet nuances from the vanilla and caramel do peak through towards the end of the dry down but a healthy dose of patchouli and the powder from the floral notes help to keep The Only One refined and classy. I don't get any coconut or not much vanilla, but I think these notes are what gives it a slight sweetness and coziness. Overall opinion: extremely synthetic heliotrope bomb, which is why it's really outrageous that heliotrope is not listed on Fragrantica after so many years since release. I don't really get any sweetness or caramel, the coffee is almost non existing and then it dries down to a weak vanilla skin scent which is gone after about two hours.I feel like black opium better suits my demographic of a younger sexy woman while The Only One seems more like a mature woman.

BNPL is an interest bearing option that allows you to delay payments on your purchases for up to 12 months depending on how much you spend. If you like fruity and caramel coffee scents you will probably like this but I find it very generic and boring. This is what I wanted Love Don't be Shy to be-- that one is too linear and the marshmallow note is too sugary. So perfectly blended, jasmine, orange blossom and vanilla are the most prominent notes, coconut and wood makes it more creamy and deep.
