About this deal

The fixes I've seen say updating the firmware, but all show firmware at 1.70.0 BL. Mine is at 1.70.2 BL. So I'm not sure if there are more firmware updates to apply. Why is a BLTouch recommended? – I recommend the BLTouch because it uses software to make mini movements as needed to account for the build plate not being level or having warps. Many 3d printers have warped build plates that will impact prints and can only be corrected by being replaced with a flat one or an auto bed leveling device like the BLTouch. Easy to Use: This auto bed levelling sensor makes it easier to level the hotbed, which can precisely measure the tilt of the Bed surface. Bed levelling is not a problem anymore. Specifically, within RepRapFirmware (RRF) and the Duet3D DWC, macros are a set of instructions that send commands to the 3D printer’s mainboard. Moreover, written in G-Code macros help to speed up the everyday use of the 3D printer. Whilst saving time looking up commands that you might otherwise forget.

Every once in a while, a BLTouch probe will go into alarm mode. When it does, it will continuously flash the red LED. Furthermore, the reset command resolves most issues without the need to restart the mainboard. M280 P0 S160 ; Filament initial heights – Probes

While the BLTouch is an extremely accurate leveling sensor, there are a few disadvantages to it as well. You can either remove the wire from the mainboard when you open it up later on, or you can simply zip-tie the wire behind the frame.

The BLTouch wiring connects to the Ender 3 mainboard by splicing into the Z Endstop connector. This connector is labeled with a small yellow label that reads “Z”. When auto bed leveling is the topic, BLTouch is the name that comes to mind as the most popular probe on the market right now, also creating the most popular printer and probe combination together with the Ender 3 that it supports. Now you will want to make sure the new firmware has been uploaded by following the steps we did to get the initial version. You will go into the menu then go to about printer. From there, you will make sure the version matches what was on the SD card, so 1.1.2 in this example. Z-Offset

Once you’re done with the offset, you’ll need to choose the type of bed leveling you want. There are about five different types of leveling methods that you can choose from, but we’ll using the Bilinear method since it’s easy to get started with. So the question is extremely simple. Why not install a leveling sensor to level at a single central point in the bed ( SAFE_HOMING), and let Marlin generate the mesh of points and worry about the rest? That’s what Marlin is for, to make life easier for us. Once you have the firmware bundle from Creality, you will want to unzip the folder and find the actual firmware file you need. In my example, I want to get the “Ender-3 Pro- Marlin2.0.1 – V1.1.2 – BLTouch.bin” file that’s under the “Marlin2.0.1 BLTouch V1.1.2 without transfer board” folder.

How to connect the wiring?

A flashing red light is almost always a sign that something is wrong, and unfortunately, it’s no different in the case of the BLTouch either. Even though paying attention to these two factors for configuring the start G-code will ensure that your BLTouch will run and automatically level the bed before each print, the code won’t be fully optimized, which we will cover next. How to Optimize the BLTouch Start G-Code? It takes about 2-3 minutes and will return to the center when it’s complete. 14 – Update your slicer settings Advertisement M303 T0 P1 S220 F1.0 ;P1=100% PWM, S=220C, F=Fan at 100% Stepper drivers and motors Stepper Driver Status
