About this deal

Let’s me shoot Sunny 16 with older cameras and their slower shutters, colors are vivid, latitude is wide, its readily available… and it’s cheap! Users will experience solid stereo imaging, tighter and more extended bass, and a boost in overall clarity.

But for most cameras the lowest ISO setting gets you the most dynamic range, and going to 200 ISO increases amplification, not sensor sensitivity. You have the option of receiving a full refund / exchange within 14 days, or, exchange / credit only within 30 days. Brightening a photo on your computer can act in many ways like raising your ISO, since it does make noise more visible (and it leads to a brighter image). Those photographers do have a point: there’s less grain at ISO 100 and more low-light ability at ISO 400. This was exactly what I was looking for to gain an understanding of how ISO, shutter and aperture all work together to create a good photo. The concept of film speed being a measure of film's sensitivity to light is a simple one, and learning which of the most common ISO ratings (between 100-800) will be best for different light situations is enough for most film photographers to know. This is why cameras designed for astrophotography have cooling devices built in to lower the temperature of the sensor therefore reducing the thermal noise enabling higher ISO settings to be used with less noise. Or, when photographing ultra-fast action like in the bird picture above, raising your ISO is often necessary. With a lower profile and new contemporary design, the ISO Series of stands positions your studio closer to the supporting surface or meter bridge, and the new redesigned isolators moves the acoustic performance another step forward.

If I'm in the sun, there's usually no need for it, and if I'm indoors, I'd often rather get a little more depth of field or a faster shutter speed than worry about keeping ISO down. The high end is a little bit brighter, the mids are definitely more clear, the bass tightens up a little bit. Some cameras have extended “HI” and “LO” values for ISO that might stretch beyond their native range. Again, going from ISO 200 to 320 adds very little more noise, but going to 400 adds quite a bit more noise again. While common opinion** is that the base ISO for current Pentax dSLRs is 200, there are still advantages (as noted above) to using lower values for some cases.

Isolate your studio monitors from the supporting surface and allow them to breathe so they can deliver the clearest and most accurate sound possible.
