In Utero anewly remastered and two officially unreleased complete live albums from Los Angeles 1993 and Seattle 1994 and bonus studio tracks and b-sides and bonus live tracks from 1993/1994 tour 72 total tracks – 53 unreleased. The prominent differences for these two songs would be the reduced vocals and less backing vocals, which provides the songs with more realistic and emotional vocals. Had I not picked up a reissue of this album it would have been something that I just would have continued to fail to appreciate. The set comes with a download code (again, something the Nevermind 4LP set did not have), but it’s not your standard download code.In fact, the final refrain of "All in all is all we are" again saw Cobain channelling his inner Beatle as it is a Lennon-like mantra and a moving and fitting last album lyric before his unfortunate and tragic death. My only minor niggle is that a cd that is in a cardboard sleeve maybe could do with being sent out in sturdier packaging. Something that I really appreciated about getting the reissue of this particular album, though, was that under the CD there was a copy of the collage that Cobain made for the album. For example, the guitar solo on Heart Shaped Box has an added flange-effect that wasn’t on the original, while the distortion and background effects on All Apologies are really cranked up and put to the front of the mix. Originally released in 2002, Nirvana features the rare and previously unreleased studio version of 'You Know You're Right', the last song the band ever recorded, available exclusively on this compilation. This is a winning formula, and the album begins with the grunge meets George Harrison-style lead guitar of Serve the Servants which along with the growling/howling Milk It conveyed Kurt Cobain's alienation with fame.

Personally, I feel that when I have an album from a band I like in my music collection I want it to be as accurate of a rendition as possible of what the artistic vision for the album truly was. though my copy has consistent white noise throughout every song exept “All Apologies” the mastering itself is really great, it sounds super punchy and detailed and warm and a lot more aggressive and grungy than the digital version. Since the mix of the original release is all-Albini except for "Heart-Shaped Box" and "All Apologies," I guessing the rest of the difference is due to it not being the official master by Bob Ludwig, but the same beast as the 2003 UK and 2008 B2B releases.
