It doesn’t run Android Wear or have a touchscreen; but the style is fantastic, and it performs simple features like delivering notifications without any fuss.

Watchmaking is a billion dollar business, if a smartwatch can slice off a fraction of that money then everyone is happy. The thickness of the face is 13mm which may sound a touch bulky but it never felt that way on our wrist. It was standing in a queue of people in a cafe, right after I checked a notification, that things came into focus. If you own an Android phone, the AX Connected is a decent smartwatch option, but the main selling point is the relatively subtle design.It’s not slow, but it’s hardly a rocket ship either, and there are pauses while apps or features load up. It all feels a little half-hearted, like Armani Exchange couldn’t be bothered to personalize the watch. Make no mistake, this is a solid smartwatch - one that could do some damage if knocked against anything fragile - but it’s fashion conscious and looks good whether you are showing it off wearing a t-shirt or if it’s half-hidden under a shirt cuff.

However, use one of the many battery modes to tweak things and pull back on the features you need (right down to only enabling Bluetooth during certain hours), and things get much better. However, on the whole, this touch-up means the design matches the feature set far better than in the last generation.
