The night of her arrival we went around the house and collected all the paci’s from everywhere we had one and put them in the bucket for Florrie. My child loves the story and was so excited about Florrie visiting and turning her dummy into a star Highly recommended. You provided the anchor that steadied their little ship as they negotiated the choppy seas of the infant years. We didnt use a dummy fairy, DD was 23 months when we got rid of the dummy so she wldnt really understand it, but (she came off dummy in July) i didnt want to wait till xmas as felt it was too far away. I read the first 3 pages and then she decided she wanted to read it to me herself - something she did most nights on holiday with her other books, think she's enjoying that independence.

After reading, parents can simply follow the book at home, and arrange an exciting visit from the Dummy Fairy, to the delight of their child. I’m not sure I liked the story plot and the flow of the story wasn’t quite as good as I was hoping for.She put them in Santa's special dummy box (decorated shoe box) about a month before Christmas, and Santa came to collect the dummies and left a present in the box, and he would know that she was old enough for big girl toys for Christmas instead of baby ones. Our son loved this story and it really helped him be able to give up his soother (at age 4 and after many failed attempts). The central difficulty for people with PDA is their avoidance of the everyday demands made by other people, due to their high anxiety levels when they feel that they are not in control. If, like me, you are a parent who has succumbed to giving your child a dummy, you may have reached a time when you know that the dummy really has got to go but you can see no way of conning your clever little one out of it. In an attempt to stop that, i did actually let her have a dummy at night again a few weeks ago, more as a joke than anything, and fortunately she saw it as that so they've not really been used, but they have gone under Tamsin's pillow tonight too.
