Sherwood HSS Taps are the general purpose option for thread cutting in most materials including steel, some stainless steels, cast irons and non-ferrous materials such as Aluminium, Brass and many others.Round dies are suitable for general purpose threading, widely used in thread repair or cleaning the external thread. Use the tap to cut into a hole while the die set is used to cut onto a cylindrical surface, creating a bolt. Straight flute design, used for through hole and shallow blind hole tapping, not for blind hole tapping. These Spiral Point Taps are suitable for cutting 25mm /1” thick material due to the safety recess at the end of the thread.
