As much as I’d be happy to do that for you, I’m afraid I don’t have the permissions to edit someone else's content. This form of communications looks like a mesh when you draw out the possible links between meters and is therefore known as a Mesh network. Oh, and I’m also required to mention that the products and advice I mention in this guide are not supplied, endorsed or directly/officially supported by OVO Energy or any energy supplier, so they cannot provide assistance if you have a problem. The ivie app additionally can be upgraded with live energy data when connected to an ivie Bud In-Home Display. With the ivie app, users can easily understand how and when they’re using energy in the home with activity breakdowns, reports and personal energy-saving tips and challenges. It is a shame the device doesn't yet have real time integration with an ivie app or Smartthings or an api. Live notifications will encourage users to take immediate action to save even more energy and reduce their carbon footprint further. For me, it should be a part of the mission to have DCC expose a space where you can check the grants you have given on your meters as part of the DCC Other User scheme. If you’re with another supplier, please reach out to them directly as they might be able to help you out.

It works to bounce the heat back into the room, which means you can have your heating on for less time, and consequently reducing those energy bills. I find it ironic that the meter can quite happily communicate with a telephone mast 2 miles away yet can't speak to its little display box in the next room. The granularity of the data you can see will depend on the permission you have given; giving permission for half-hourly data collection will give the most detail. This is where CADs come in as they use the IHD data and therefore you can see the data more quickly. The ivie Bud was launched early this year as part of Chameleon’s replacement In-Home Display (IHD) service in support of the continuing smart meter rollout.

The comms hub uses the Wide Area Network (WAN) to talk to the company responsible for collecting the data and passing it on to other businesses such as suppliers; for the latest SMETS 2 meters this company will be the DCC (Data Communications Company) which the government has set up especially for this role. Powered by a household’s smart meter data, the ivie app lets users see exactly where and how they’re using energy in the home alongside personal energy-saving tips and challenges to help them make the biggest savings in the home. But if my experience is anything to go by, there clearly needs to be some polishing up to do before I’d make a second attempt. They can be useful if you simply want to get real-time data into an app and have the device do nothing but that. By agreeing to these rules, you warrant that you will not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar,sexually-oriented, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws.
