Remove the SD card and press the reset button on the underside of the Dash Cam. Then turn the Dash Cam on. Please turn Parking Mode off and turn Screen Saver off as these could interfere with the test results.

Select the Dash Cam you have and wish to upgrade The built-in G-sensor will allow the Dashcam to record any impacts or sudden course changes and the footage is automatically protected on the memory card. The built-in GPS allows for the vehicle's exact position and route to be recorded and a date and time stamp is also included in the recording to prevent any potential dispute in the event of an incident. When I start the car and drive, normally around 10 minutes into the journey it lights up and the recording counter stops. Take your Dash Cam inside and plug it into mains power or a computer using the Nextbase provided USB cable. We tested the dashcam individually over a period of time and as part of a group test so we really put it through its paces. We followed the manufacturers'recommendations when setting up the dashcam. We tested it in both daytime and nighttime. The internal hardware and software are where you’ll find the major differences as it’s the first in the series that features WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS connectivity, that’s where the GW comes from. This allows you to connect the 322GW to the MyNextbase Connect app and view your dashcam footage on your mobile phone. By comparison, the 222 dashcam requires you to take out the SD card and insert it into a laptop or PC.

It has been completely re-designed to provide a fresh new look and feel, for enhanced user experience. For the camera nerds, the 422GW has a better lens which has an f/1.3 aperture as opposed to f/1.6. Essentially, this means that more light enters the camera. That extra adjustment does have a big impact on the quality, especially under darker lighting.

Nextbase have reserved many of their best features for the 622GW which was announced later than the other devices in the Series 2 Dashcam range and only went on sale in 2020. Personally I like the 202lite the best as it can last for around 50 minutes on battery power when new and uncooked, so long as you are aware of the issues at least you know what to look out for, if it acts funny shutting down with funny screens battery is getting duff usually first sign. One thing that is better about the nextbase I found was they worked with ANY sd card, my F770 won't and thinkware don't make larger than 64GB!! It also has intelligent parking mode that will monitor your vehicle when not in use and record any movements it detects. We recommend the official Nextbase hardwire kit for this to prevent your battery from draining. HD RECORDING AT 30FPS AND 140° WIDE VIEWING ANGLE - The 222X records in 1080p HD resolution at 30fps with a 6G lens to provide high quality images and footage for your journey on the road and for insurance claims. Unlike the 222, the 322GW is compatible with the add-on modules, including the rear camera, rear window camera and the cabin view camera. Charging takes approximately 90 minutes and a full charge is indicated when the BLUE (charging) LED goes out. The 522GW takes another slight step up in size which allows it to have a 3” touch screen instead of the 2.5” of the 422GW. Most of the other features are the same with both WiFi and Bluetooth to use it with the MyNextbase Connect app, emergency response and built in Alexa.
