I was to use the Wishful balm as part of my day routine but it kept causing my sunscreen to peel, so I switched it to my evening routine. Aesthetics of the Honey Balm Niacinamide: Also known as vitamin B3, it visibly reduces the appearance of pores and uneven skin tone. In addition to the Wishful Honey Balm Jelly Moisturizer, Wishful have also launched the Wishful Moisturizing Wand which can be used with the moisturiser for easier application – especially when you’re on the go and don’t want to use your hands. The product smells predominantly of lavender, which is a cold weather herb. Therefore, the smell uncommon in South Asia and that’s my explanation for why I like it less than (say) jasmine. The good news is that the lavender is mild and I don’t notice the fragrance after about a minute. But in no doubt that I smell it every day when I apply the product. What did I like about the product? From starting her Huda Beauty blog over 10 years ago, make up artists Huda Kattan has built a community, who inspire her brand. With thousands of comments coming into to her over the years, the creative began to get a deep understanding of what her readers were most concerned about. The common consensus? They wanted simplified skin care they could seamlessly slot into their beauty routine. And thus, WISHFUL was born.

Result? In addition to providing instant hydration, Honey Balm minimizes water loss from the top layers of the skin so they stay hydrated for up to 24 hours. The lavender-tinted pearl infusion offers instant radiance and a blurring effect, leaving skin luminous, radiant and sublimated! Huda has struggled with problematic skin, so it was important for her that the Wishful Honey Balm Jelly Moisturizer had a formula that would work for all skin types, because it’s non-comedogenic and non-acnegenic too. Directions The texture of this balm is so divine and unlike anything else I’ve ever tried – it has a whipped, almost jelly-like texture that helps it to melt into your skin for the most amazing, sensorial experience. We also added finely crushed, ethically-sourced lavender pearls that give a beautiful iridescence to the skin. This means that as well as the long-term benefits of this moisturizer (I’ll get to that shortly!), it gives an immediate glow that is so beautiful and satisfying. The Wishful Honey Balm Jelly Moisturizer can be used both day and/or night, and because of its luminous finish and texture, it’s also said to work well when used under your makeup as a primer, as it makes Huda’s skin look so pretty, that she doesn’t want to apply makeover over the top. My Account

I have reverted to using this as my night or evening cream: honestly, it does nothing for my skin. I care about the beautiful iridescent glow during daylight hours and not when I am about to sleep. Huda said she always uses honey for her go-to skin hydration, so it’s one of the key ingredients in the Honey Balm that helps to keep skin moisturiser for upto 24 hours.

I cannot use this as a day moisturiser that sits under my sunscreen. I have tried applying this product 10 minutes, 20 minutes and 60 minutes before applying my sunscreen. Honey Balm can be used day and/or night, and because of the gorgeous luminous finish and texture, it also works really well under makeup as a primer – but honestly, this makes my skin look so pretty that sometimes I don’t even want to put anything on top!

As you can see from the photos, the moisturiser has an iridescence to it and quite frankly, this is nothing short of genius. The moisturiser glides on beautifully and produces an “instant” glow that immediately makes your skin look more radiant, dewy and youthful. This effect lasts for a good 5 hours).
