Everybody knows that Stephen King's "IT" novel is a classic, so how on earth could an adaptation do it justice? Although I am looking forward to the new film I have to admit the early pictures of the clown seem to have missed the point. Whereas the book has the advantage of a limitless budget (whatever your imagination can afford) the series is badly damaged by budgetary restraints and, because of this, is unable to really stage the scenes of horror in the way they should be.

The novel is huge and is able to cover a vast number of incidents and characters but the miniseries, despite coming in at over three hours, lacks this scope. For every Shawshank Redemption, Misery, Stand By Me or The Mist, there have been many duds – seven (count them) Children Of The Corn movies, Silver Bullet, Sleepwalkers, The Mangler and King’s own directorial snorefest, Maximum Overdrive – a film so bad that it’s not even funny. Jim'll Fix It was briefly revived in 2007 as Jim'll Fix It Strikes Again and later had a television special air in 2011. The Losers Club (as they are known) is made up of six boys and one girl and supposedly to bring the group closer together, to bind their spirits and souls, Beverly has sex with each and every one of the boys. Beverly mortally wounds It with her slingshot, and as It limps away the surviving Losers pursue and knock the creature down and rip its heart out, supposedly killing It once and for all.

They descend into the sewers once again, with Pennywise informing them that they will never see It, just what their “tiny human minds” can comprehend. Bill, Ben and Richie nearly get lost in It's Deadlights and Eddie is killed attempting to save his friends. Months later, during the spring semester at their school, Bill befriends the overweight new kid Ben Hanscom. The miniseries of IT is very close to the novel (apart from the aforementioned scene and the Turtle) and it’s easy to see why King may think highly of it, it is, after all, very close to his source material.This chair based exercise routine is ideal for people who are concerned about their ability to stand while exercising. A few of his novels – Salem’s Lot, The Stand, Pet Semetary and IT – became firm favourites and recently I have taken to listening to them all over again in the form of audiobooks.

The reason the creature uses the clown form is because it is something that attracts children, that disarms them and makes them believe he poses no threat whatsoever until it’s too late. Besides being tormented by a gang of local bullies led by Henry Bowers, the group each experiences disturbing encounters with Pennywise. This is perhaps most apparent in the ending which is sorely underwhelming (Tim Curry himself has recently expressed his disappointment with the finale). The group of children must come together to figure out who Pennywise is, why he has invaded their hometown and which child he will haunt next - to stop the demonic clown once and for all.I have read some of the posts and have sent for the original version as some are staying that is a watch so I will see what I think .
