About this deal

Unfortunately, this book was not my cup of tea. Hence, two stars. Nevertheless, there are things I did enjoy about this book. Here are the most important ones: The pacing. Parts of the book drag on forever (the scenes after Pa Salt's Death could have focused on the aspects and conversations that were unique to Ally instead of retelling absolutely everything we already knew from the first book), while parts I found more interesting (Felix' parents' story, Anna and Grieg) felt rushed even though they were vital parts of the family history. What was the French Elle doing in Leipzig? Did she meet Bo in Germany or, if he was in Paris before he went to Leipzig, did they meet there?

Auch Norwegen wurde einem hier so schön beschrieben wie Brasilien im ersten Teil. Dieses Buch spielt dabei sogar auf 3 Zeitebenen und nicht nur auf 2 ⏳ Catherine Gonsholt Ighanian, Seven Sisters author has cancer - "Death does not scare me", (Norwegian), Verdens Gang, 26 May 2019 I knew that my ‘gift' of beauty had helped to bring about the most painful moment of my life, simply because I was too naive at the time to understand the power it wielded. So now, I hid it away, which meant hiding myself.' Lucinda is also the author of a contemporary novel The Olive Tree, set during one long hot summer in Cyprus, and based on a family holiday. Lucinda and her son Harry have personally narrated the audiobook together. In May 2022, her stepdaughter Olivia Riley, who was a personal assistant and publishing executive for Lucinda Riley Ltd, was killed after being hit by a car while walking her dogs in London. [9] Filmography [ edit ]And yet, his presence in the girls’ family histories is clear from the first book on. It’s also obvious to me that he isn’t dead at all, but very busy solving some sort of problem we don’t know about yet. Said problem must be linked to the absence of the mysterious seventh sister Merope, to the Eszus and very possibly also to the fact his wife (or at least the equivalent of Pleione) seems to be missing. The staff of Atlantis -Claudia, Christian, Georg and Marina- are in it as well, with a possible bigger role for Marina who, according to many readers, is none other than Pa’s long-lost biological daughter. If Bo is Pa Salt, this would make him about 17 years of age when he was a second year music student. Does this fit with his timeline? How long had he been in Germany? Lucinda Riley was born in Ireland, and after an early career as an actress in film, theatre and television, wrote her first book aged twenty-four. Her novel Hothouse Flower (also called The Orchid House) was selected by the UK's Richard and Judy Book Club and has been translated into thirty-four languages and sold over eight million copies worldwide. She is a New York Times and Sunday Times bestselling author.

Jens Halvorsen, a 20 year old womanizer and heir to a family brewing company, plays the flute in Peer Gynt. His mother taught him how to play the piano, violin and flute, which was his passion. He gave up his inheritance when his father found out that he had been skipping the classes that would prepare him taking over the business, to become a musician. His dream was to become a composer, and Grieg arranged for a letter of recommendation for him to get into the university in Leipzig, Germany. If Pa Salt is the man we meet in CeCe and Kitty’s story in Tilbury port in January 1949, then something happened to Elle around this time.

There, Ally begins to discover her roots – and how her story is inextricably bound to that of a young unknown singer, Anna Landvik, who lived there over a hundred years before, and sang in the first performance of Grieg’s iconic music set to Ibsen’s play ‘Peer Gynt’. As Ally learns more about Anna, she also begins to question who her father, Pa Salt, really was. And why is the seventh sister missing? Lucinda Edmonds was born in Lisburn [1] and spent the first few years of her life in the village of Drumbeg near Belfast before moving to England. [3] At age 14, she enrolled in the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts in London to study theatre and ballet. At 16, she got her first major television role in the BBC adaptation of The Story of the Treasure Seekers, followed shortly afterwards by a guest role in Auf Wiedersehen Pet. She remained a working actress for the next seven years. [4] The story follows Ally (Alcyone), the second sister in her quest of healing after the sudden death of her father, the mysterious billionaire Pa Salt. In this novel, we delve into the past of a blossoming singer, Anna, from pastoral Norway who is recruited to become the ghost voice for the premier production of Grieg's Peer Gynt. Elle studied music in Leipzig with Bo, Karine and Pip. Karine tells Pip that the only reason she has a future was because her music teacher spotted her talent on the flute and viola and put her forward for a scholarship in Leipzig that she had a future. Die Geschichte an sich setzt wieder in der selben Zeit an wie Band 1, was vermutlich vor allem gut ist, wenn zwischen dem lesen der einzelnen Bücher etwas mehr Zeit liegt als bei mir dieses Mal 😇😅
