About this deal

The thermostat uses one wire to control the primary functions of your HVAC system, such as heating, cooling, and fan. See the diagram below for the role of each wire in your system: Martin Lewis: What the Autumn Statement means for you – including wages, benefits, pensions, ISAs, national insurance and more lt;li>Maximum differential 1.0&#8451; at 20&#8451; at heat ramps of 3&#8451; per hour</li> One of the most important aspects to a home thermostat system is the control interface it uses, as this is what users will use to interact with and set the device. For simple thermostats that have few features, the control interface will most likely consist of just a few buttons used to cycle through the options, but other higher-end devices will feature touchscreen controls that have tons of options. The type that you will want, of course, will depend entirely on your tastes. Power Supply The Honeywell T6360 is a programmable electronic room thermostat used to control heating within a domestic or small commercial environment. It works by measuring the air temperature within its location and then maintaining it at the level set by the user. This thermostat is designed to improve overall energy efficiency by allowing users to easily control the temperature of their space.

Can someone give me advise on the best way forward. Do I simply disconnect these two wires from terminasl 1 & 2 within my boiler and then connect the wireless receiver as per the Tado instructions? I assume I would then need to disconnect wires from the thermostat itself? Happy to provide pictures of how the thermostat is connected if required.

The way they work is, there are two units - a 'normal' Prog Stat (except it doesn't have wires going to it) and a wireless receiver (which does). These two communicate without wires betwixt them.

I bought the starter kit thinking the thermstat could be wired in to replace my Honeywell.... The fact it's wireless thermostat wasn't a big enough clue for me. Many people don't have the need of a high tech fancy home thermostat. For homes with simple HVAC systems installed, a simple thermostat will do, and preferably one that is both accurate and highly reliable. For such people, the Honeywell T6360B1028 Room Thermostat is a perfect fit. This simple home thermostat does not rely on having a fancy touchscreen display to do the job, which can sometimes add unnecessary complexity to a device. Instead, you can simply set the desired temperature with the turn of a dial, and the thermostat will utilise its built-in Dual Diaphram sensing element to ensure that your room is as close to the desired temperature as possible. Those who have lived with simple home thermostats know much of a pain they can be to keep up with. Having to manually set the temperature on a daily, and sometimes hourly, basis can be most inconvenient. For those who are looking to upgrade to something better, Honeywell has a great programmable HVAC controller that is just what you need. The problem is as you move to the electronic wall thermostat, they tend to have built in anti-hysteresis software (the sine wave of temperature caused by using on/off control) this software is great with an oil boiler that only turns off/on, but with modern gas they should not be turned off/on but allowed to modulate (turn down) as the home warms up so they can gain the latent heat from the flue gases. And mid price range wireless tend to use a mark/space ratio (switches off/on slowly reducing on time) to reduce the hysteresis, and this stops the boiler from gaining the latent heat from flue gases. Another important factor to consider with thermostats is the power supply used for them. The vast majority of thermostats use a connection to the c-wire for power, but some may also include the ability to operate from other power sources, including from batteries. If you are in doubt about how to power the thermostat, getting one that supports multiple power sources would be ideal. HVAC Compatibility Next, let’s talk about the C or common wire. If you have a Trane model thermostat and a wire labeled X or B, refer to your thermostat manual. In some cases, one of those wires is your common. If you have a C wire, place it into the C terminal on your wall plate. C wire adapters are available here.
