About this deal

I ran to a closet & shut the door. Right as the possible-murderer feet made it to the bottom of the stairs. That was close! Now I hope he doesn't find me. Lanie's parents are not happy when she begins dating Andrew. The seventeen year difference bothers them, and they don't even know about her connection with Raven, and Andrew's connection with Lanie's dad. I've been told that it is a withering portrait of narcissistic self-deception by a man who so thoroughly believes his own lies that his impending existentialist crisis, brought on by post-recession financial devastation and ever diminishing youth, will only force him further down the path of increasingly aggressive assertion of his self worth. But you could say that kind of thing about any song.

Lanie's first student counseling session is with Raven Marx...a senior with some behavioral issues which are complicated by a widowed father focused on the continued success of his company. Seems Andrew Marx had distanced his relationships due to the painful loss of his wife ten years earlier. The man might be wealthy and successful, but his heart was still hostage to her loss. When he catches sight of Lanie, something shifts...he finds himself distracted, intrigued and "on fire" for the woman! Seems his heart may be thawing. I am in awe of feels I still have going on since it has been several hours now since I finished reading this!

This book is about Marie and Conner. She has returned home from college, and her parents John and Kath are going on an Alaskan cruise. Marie admits to her Dad that she thinks she may have a stalker, and he worries about her being home alone for three weeks while he and his wife are away. SO he asks his college best friend Conner to stay with Marie to keep an eye on her. Lanie is able to read Raven well and as her school counselor, she suggests Andrew spend more time with his daughter. Not bad writing but this is the longest boring story I have read in awhile. This is just a day to day mantra of a billionaire 45 year old man Andrew and his off and on relationship with a 28 year Guidance Counselor Lannie. She works at his 17 year old daughter Ravens High School. My Father's Best Friend grabbed hold of my head and heart. A story that felt right and was begging to be told, I am so glad I got the chance to read it!

Can't tell you how many books by Ali Parker I've devoured over the years, but every time I see a new book from her, I just have to get it. My Father's Best Friend is another great story that isn't afraid to cross boundaries. And I love Ali Parker for that. What follows is a captivating tale of love in all the wrong places. A story about finding your soul mate in a place that has the potential to light the rest of your life on fire and make you rethink every other aspect that makes up your world. It is also a story so full of misspellings, stunted, unintelligible prose, and sentence structure issues that you completely lose the joy of the story being told. I once told my dad that his best friend Wayne Fogarty tried to spice up a family christening by murdering a badger with a fence post in front of a load of kids. It wasn't true, but my father believed it without question, because that's exactly the kind of thing that Wayne might do. Lots of drama, but in a good way. Their obstacles come in the form of Lanie's mom and the fact that (title is a big clue!) Andrew's very close friend is her dad! Uncomfortable much? You mean Lucinda? Then yes," My mother said sounding a bit annoyed. We both hated her. She ruined our family. She was fired when my mum found out. This is a classic Flora Ferrari story of on older man/younger woman, best friend's daughter/father's best friend romance with some drama in the form of a stalker and a whole lot of romance, OTT insta-love and a claiming. This is another fast-paced, fun, witty and hot story and great addition to the series. Blakee is a Scottish mob boss and the former friend of Bonnie's dad. Bonnie and her dad lives small apartment, after the death of her mom in a hit and run accident. Her dad has taken his wife's death hard and started hanging around the wrong crowd and gambling all their money away. Bonnie needs exposure and is obsessed with finding the answers on who killed her. Her dad's final gamit was to gamble away their rent which put Bonnie in a peculiar position in leaving the apartment to go and find money. Just when I thought I was going in the right of the direction of the plot, the mayhem veers off someplace else! For all the heartbreak, and infuriating stubbornness that seems to weave its way into these characters mindsets, even if they think they're doing the right thing. Gah! ( or maybe it's just me, it has been known to happen < clears throat looks away. >) There is copious of wittiness, fun banter, to downright scorching heat- I am talking~ hey, now where did that man come from... and can we have some more of that..?! Along with some pretty sage advice from a teenager here n there that makes me think maybe my teen is capable of ... NAH! Not possible! Just a good reminder of WHY I do read fiction! Ha. I walked past a movie room, arcade, eating place,& so much other things. I didn't have all of these things, but I had some of them. I made my way to the hallway that had rooms.
