About this deal

The 2300 chipset allows for support of AAC and SBC - there's no LDAC support sadly, but it's possible to meet the Hi-Res Standard (as we mentioned previously) by using the headphones in wired mode. Wear detection would be a welcome addition, too, as would the ability to switch ANC profiles without having to access the app but that’s probably asking a bit much of a pair of budget-friendly headphones.

Note that another upside of listening wired is that you aren't using any of the battery life, but at the same time you can't access the ANC modes. None whatsoever. When watching videos, the audio is perfectly in sync, regardless of what operating system you use. The carrying case is well-designed and does a satisfying job protecting the headphones. It’s a hard shell case with a zipper running around the case — you’re supposed to open it up like a book. The fit is very comfortable and the look is very subtle as far as over-ears go - I found myself only making occasional micro-adjustments, and the low clamping force means your ears won't get too sweaty, which is always a big bonus, but on the flip side it can occasionally result in some sound leakage, and comfort is optimised over noise reduction. It means that the A10 are better suited to casual listening and the daily commute over exercise, where excessive motion can result in the headphones moving around quite a bit - you'll be fine with a dash to make the train, but I wouldn't run 10km in them.

On the flip side, there’s no mention of multi-point connection, so you can’t expect these to be connected to multiple devices such as a phone or laptop. Battery Life

Although the chrome ear pads are a nice touch, they catch a lot of fingerprints and tend to show off scratches and dust. Turning ANC on completely flattens the bass. This is probably the flattest bass response I’ve seen so far. Enabling active noise cancellation flattens the bass and makes the headphones sound quieter.Even the active noise cancellation, despite a noticeable hissing noise from the left channel, is decent enough for commuting and airplane travels. Mid-frequencies are pretty similar between the 2 modes. Lower mids are relatively neutral and sound natural. While they feel noticeably better in hand than the A11 model, they still don’t look as premium as Aukey EP-N12, another budget headphone.

Where the OneOdio A10s succeed most for consumers is in lowering the cost barrier to entry to get features such as ANC in full-size over-ear headphones, without also dumbing down such features to the point of being useless. The sound quality, Bluetooth range, comfort, call quality, battery life, everything turned out to be great. These are by far the most consistent and great-sounding mics in Bluetooth headphones, rivaling even higher-end models. The A30 have a surprisingly great call quality, a decent array of commands, and active noise cancellation (ANC), all for a budget price. What does this mean in practice? Most of the headphones worth their price can tamp down the low, consistent rumble of an airplane or a train quite well. The same goes for the ongoing whir of a loud AC unit or fan. That's because these are consistent, relatively unchanging noises. But noise like music, conversation, or dogs barking—anything that is more complex than a constant drone—is likely to be more problematic. The best noise-cancelling models eliminate these sounds to a degree, but you're still going to hear some of them.
