About this deal

Alongside authors such as Maruo Suehiro and Kazuo Umezu, Junji Ito is well-known as one of Japan's greatest in the genre of horror manga. But he soon finds himself lured in by the cuteness and wants the cat to love him as much as it does his wife. But cat lovers should be warned there is a bittersweet sting here, as Ito’s story extends to Yon’s final days.

Ito used two main artistic styles throughout the manga: a realistic one and a horror-tinged one of exaggeration. They do say that pets can be perfect for reducing blood pressure, but Junji's is about to go right through the roof.

The 103 third parties who use cookies on this service do so for their purposes of displaying and measuring personalized ads, generating audience insights, and developing and improving products. Their contributions consist of Ito's comic, "Yon Went to Heaven," and his wife's letter chronicling the death of Yon from heart failure on 3 February 2011, about a month before the earthquake, and their subsequent grieving. His longest work, the three-volume Uzumaki, is about a town's obsession with spirals: people become variously fascinated with, terrified of, and consumed by the countless occurrences of the spiral in nature. The manga is drawn in Junji Ito's horror comic style featuring intricate and finely drawn images, which when combined with the humorous story, results in a experience that is sure to bring laughter to the reader. Critical discussions have centered around Ito's use of realism and exaggerated horror to elicit moments of comedy, the manga's relationship to previous works by Ito, and how the artwork depicts the relationship between cats and their caregivers.

Son las 5 am, y tuve que contener la risa en varias ocasiones porque no sabría explicarle a mi novio que lo desperté a carcajadas porque vi una ilustración de Junji cayendo sobre el moco de su propio gato. Of course the cat needs a friend so they get a second cat and Ito does not think it has an accursed face and wants to love it more than the first one.Children's librarian Marissa Lieberman wrote that, because of the overlap in the importance of narrative pacing and timing in both comedy and horror, Ito's previous work in horror and gag manga helped to make Junji Ito's Cat Diary unique among other cat-centered manga.

This manga is a diary of the author's life as he tries and often fails to connect with his two feline friends. J, a dog person, was convinced into adopting two cats by his fiancee A-ko: Muu, a foreign cat, and Yun who has an accused face. I found myself smiling or laughing more than I was wincing and cringing at the horror or scare tactics.Upon publication, the manga received a favorable critical and commercial response, debuting in The New York Times 's weekly list of the ten best-selling manga volumes.

his blushing bride-to-be has some unexpected company in tow - Yon, a ghastly-looking family cat, and Mu an adorable Norwegian forest cat.Cats really are odd creatures and Ito uses that to his advantage taking these normal scenes and putting a horror spin on them. Born in Gifu Prefecture in 1963, he was inspired from a young age by his older sister's drawing and Kazuo Umezu's comics and thus took an interest in drawing horror comics himself. Ito's sister asked that her own longhair cat, Ran-chan, be included in the manga, but he did not have the space for it. It is s perfect addition to my collection and really showcases Ito’s humor as he navigates his life with his fiances cats. Master of Japanese horror manga Junji Ito presents a series of hissterical tales chronicling his real-life trials and tribulations of becoming a cat owner.
