About this deal

This treasure trove of tooth and claw will be coalescing before the rest of the range, giving your first taste of Seraphon supremacy.

It’s not just the new Battletome that you’ll find in the new Army Set, there is also a selection of new kits from the update Seraphon Range. Games Workshop sent Sprues and Brews the new Slann Starmaster, Saurus Warriors and Raptadon Hunters and Chargers to take a look at. Fresh weapons emerge from Forge World for your games of Adeptus Titanicus – in this case the devastating Conversion Beam Extirpator for the Warlord Titan, a torso-mounted Conversion Beam Dissolutor each for the Reaver Titan, and an arm-mounted Conversion Beam Dissolutor for Warhound Scout Titan. All three devices are cast in resin – and terrifying weapons of immense destructive force. These are improved Warriors really, gaining a flat out 3+ save (but losing the bonus +1) and the Selfless Protectors ability which allows them to take wounds intended for nearby Heroes. To accompany his new beefier model, he gained 2 more wounds, which is honestly a good place to stop since it keeps him within Look Out, Sir! range, and able to avoid enemy fire this season, as his Palanquin isn’t a mount. Other than that he really hasn’t changed. He also lost Comet’s Call of course. This is interesting, as you want to (in some ways) run both types of units, as the Tepok Lances get stronger if you hit them with the Hunters in the same turn. Still, this puts the to-hit roll to a 3+, so without that, you’re only hitting 50% of the time. Cosmic Crush – A great spell that you’ll want to cast against your opponent’s most heavily armoured units. If successfully cast you roll a dice for each model in the target unit and for each dice that equals or beats the save characteristic you’ll inflict a mortal wound. This guy is…weird? Sadly he lost a lot of his utility – though he did make up for it in other ways. He doesn’t grant you 3D6″ charge anymore (which would be really nice with all the new cavalry that just came out), nor does he grant extra CP. He does however have 2 spell casts per turn, which makes him a nice support piece. Scry the Stars lets you roll a number of dice equal to the battle round and for each 2+ grant a 5+ ward. It’s got unlimited range, but you will probably drop this round 2 or 3 since that’s where most games get decided. Finally he has a nice niche warscroll spell, Celestial Doom which shuts off Wards to a unit within 12″. Not always useful but if you go up against an army with Wards you will be so happy he’s here. Skink Starpriest

The Seraphon Army Set serves as a reminder that, in spite of all the recent advances in 3D printing and the accessibility of miniature sculpting software, Games Workshop still sit firmly in the driver’s seat. The miniatures in this box are astonishing in their detail – amongst which the incredible Slann Starmaster reigns supreme – and promises great things for the Seraphon range in the near future. Starting with the Slann Starmaster feels like a bit of a mistake because nothing else in this box is going to be able to match the magnificence of this miniature. Slowly, cold seeping into every inch of your body, you swim out from the stairs. For a few moments, it is still possible to touch the bottom, the rest of the stairwell descending into the deeps, and then you are treading water. You make for one of the other passages — not the closest one, or the one after that, but something far enough away from the first that if your pursuers follow, you might have a a chance yet to run. Comet’s Call – A great spell that can target multiple units anywhere on the battlefield to inflict mortal wounds. Depending on the casting roll you’re able to select either D3 or D6 enemy units as targets for this spell.

Coalesced Command Traits

The Lore of Celestial Manipulation contains just three spells for your Skink Wizards to choose from. Contemplations of the Ancient Ones allows a Slann to switch their memorized spell. Previously this could be done for free, but now requires a bit of forethought. Spatial Transformation lets you teleport a unit wholly within 12″ of a Slann. Previously this was for free at the end of the movement, but even as a Heroic Action still incredibly powerful. You still can’t move in the movement phase, so be aware. Command Traits
