This song is, simply put, perfect. A slow, acoustic folk ballad, with the sonic delight of the acoustic from "Nutshell" making a return. Jerry Cantrell's voice, while not Staley's, is still really good in its own right and is more appropriate for the beginning than Staley's. One often overlooked thing in this song is the harmonica work. It is what makes the song, and needs more credit. Halfway through the song, the folksy ballad speeds up and the drums come in, with Staley taking over the vocals. The singing is very emotional, especially when he yells "I'm scared to death". Also, in the aforementioned part of the song, the harmonica goes crazy, and that harmonica solo remains a favorite among solos of any type.

This record features songs that show each member’s individual talent, including Layne Staley’s vocal range, which made him one of the most iconic singers of all time. Dirt is one of the most well-known Alice In Chains albums, and with good reason. This record was an important part of their career, as it’s the first release featuring guitarist and vocalist Jerry Cantrell full-time. The vinyl itself is gorgeous–it comes as a translucent red vinyl housed in a gatefold sleeve with printed inner sleeves featuring lyrics and credits. In my mind, this is Alice in Chains crowning achievement. It's four minutes of sheer bliss and terror. That said, Sap is not as well-known as Dirt or even some of their other albums—but it’s still one of the most unique records they ever made. As good as listening to any band can sound on vinyl, live performances are special. While studio recordings give you the clearest form of any song, a live performance allows you to feel it, putting you in the pit as you listen to the music and energy from the stage. This is great, but it feels a little out of place, it's more bluesy and upbeat, where as the other songs on the album are bleak and depressing. It's a great song, but one of the weaker ones on the album. A kind of underwhelming closer, but what a great album.
